The Oracle
That little lady, the Oracle
Doses out little bits of hope
For the future
She waves her magic wand
And issues commands from beyond
We must straighten up, she says
To continue living as a people
Of wealth, glory, technology
And she says we will
For now we stick our hands
In our pockets
Where bacteria replicates
On our skin
And we study it
But do not seek God
But we will
We will study God again
Instead of bacteria
We steady our temperament
With a bottle of wine, drunk
But she says
We’ll raise our glasses one day
To a toast
For longevity of our countrymen
And well-being of our women
And success of our children
And balance of our environment
All across the globe
And the planes will soar for peace
And the news will issue truth
And the graves will be opened
Off to a better place
That little lady, the Oracle
Doses out little bits of hope
For the future.
