Something Surfaces, It Arises

She would like a trip to the city or the beach
Instead to be under an umbrella in a torrent of rainstorm
Sending a message to a sitting President
Entering a moment of silence to remember what nothing means.

Something surfaces. It arises.

She assigned importance to her aspirations
And she needed a fresh start
The prisoners in her life fade away
And she just wants her husband’s love.

Love surfaces.

She would like to bridge a gap between everyday people
And the elders of our society
The makers of our psychology
The implementers of the philosophy.

Love arises.

Cracks and chaos hide in the shade — unknown to us
So she pairs wine with fine cheeses according to the original American wineries’ rules
To attract light into the atmosphere
And it helps balance everything out.

Light arises.
