"Ron Rowe" - A Toast to my Grandfather
Ron Rowe
My grandfather
A great grandfather
A father of three
And most lovely
A husband to a lady
Beautiful inside and out
Both of them.
He, "the man"
Befriends everyone
And most who know him
A gentleman
Someone to give a good cheer
“To so and so….” “To so and so…”
But this one is to him —
A toast to the Masons
And the linemen of this world
And times have changed
In living of just less than 100 years
So a toast to the line-women too
And the good times
In all seasons
Let's toast to that too.
Because my life has been
In the deep abyss
And in the high skies
And I believe on the cross
It’s always good to know someone
From the Great Generation
A veteran
A person of high regard
A man of good heart.
Cheers to Ron Rowe
My grandfather
Year nineteen twenty-four
He’s lived it
He’s watched it change
He’s managed to find humor in it
He’s an optimist
Tell him it’s high fives now
And fist-bumps
And he’s a cool cat.
So oft one crosses over
But we never see
The other side
Until we see it
So a toast to your journey
And upon your way
See your lovely
And your son’s lovely
And your daughter’s lovely
And enjoy
I wish you could message me back.
