It's Not So Easy

It's not so easy for some people to make friends,
But they love other things -
Pouring into music, books, video-games, hobbies.
No one person is a loser for loving anything, losers hate.

It's not so easy to stay out of the rain without a roof or a borough,
Wetness always reaches the ground,
Snails come out for a drink.
Humans go under cover, children too - unless they're rain dancers like snails.

It’s not easy for me to listen to someone else’s teaching,
Unless I am captivated, or motivated by money or a lesson I need to learn,
We are all taught something, but to learn enough to teach is mostly a rarity.
And you cannot teach easily without a student that really has ears.

For many, mathematics is hard, marriage is hard, being moral is hard,
Getting the timing right for being pregnant is like licking the wind,
It can’t be done accordingly.
There’s a reason we wish and pray so hard, us humans.

Do we wish and pray and meditate that we may learn?
Or do we wish and pray that something might happen easily?
Our mouths are not so tender, but harsh,
What shall we expect from life in return?

It’s not so easy to be sick and tired, or wanting of things, or fatter than others,
But how are we carrying on anyway?
Yes, we are still here.
Yes, we should be more joyous, when life is fast or still.

For many, “it’s not easy” is a regular thing.
Shall we toughen or are we already tough?
Have we been dealt aces or are we carrying all threes of clubs?
Should it even matter how tough we are?

It’s not easy to be so much the same and so diverse as humans are,
But nature has worked itself upon us, and we survived so far.
At least with difficulty comes what is interesting,
And yeah, life is interesting.

I lie here dead as a corpse one day,
Do I wish and pray for easy things upon my transition to the after-life?
Or do I think the worms or worm-wood will have me?
Or do I think “it’s not so easy” will take a different form?
