Joy

Joy is the birth of a child
After years of hoping,
Two proud parents - 3 heartbeats
They’ll one day all be troublemakers
And problem solvers.

On a lace ribbon -
One that represents contentment
Is one fractal loop where my
Joy stays.
The loop will be triggered by such a birth
Or another party with family & friends
Or with a special rare occasion
With my man
Or myself.

My sister’s house fire?
Joy for everyone is ok!
A major car accident?
I’m still alive! Joy!
People beating cancer?
Woo hoo! Joy again.
These are the living perspectives
All must have to sustain themselves
For each hard-knocks occasion.
When they surface
We answer with joy!

I live this life
Chattering when I feel joy
With thanksgiving.
I should remember
That I must be
Content
But also joyful.
Joy is the pitter-patter in my heart
When I feel grateful to be alive.
Like glitter my brain sparkles
And a sure grin surfaces
My heart radiates.
