Daring Notes
What’s now?
The atmosphere was pink this morning
Skies grayed
Clouds rolled cumulous style overhead
I pulled up my dress in a dare
Heat swept my inner thigh
I choked myself.
This supple covering filtered over my whole head
Torpedos landed out front
The voices caused the uptick in the calamity
My head swirled
Anger vented all over the place
I ended up upside down.
The bomb exploded.
Veils lifted all around
The sense of air seemed thick and ongoing
Pause entered
I emerged before the altar and Jesus came
He was tan skinned
My pores emitted sweat for him.
My religion got heavy
Spirits engaged in seemingly sweet choreography
I got tense in my finger bones
Knuckles cracked
My chin held the air up
The flags were raised all the way up.
I yelled and the echo landed across the way.
I wanted to ache no more
Stillness all around in the dark and day captured me mid-sentence
Something simple aroused me
Water poured down my throat ice-cold
I laid on the ground face up and swore by and by
The sky lamented.
Sacred objects held their upright position
The righteous led a mountain to sway
Microphones came my way
I agitated to say some great remark to quell the masses
But I told the truth
The wind carried words up away and to their grave.
I sang my best chord and the blackbirds flew
The daring notes stung.
