Connected

I'm connected with you,
I have mixed emotions about that,
My heart dangles by a thread,
Love is risky business,
Is our love worth it?
When we kiss our tongues make love,
Only I say, "don’t hit me anymore".

I also connect with the world,
I look upward and imagine
Someone looking back across the eons
With a super-telescope,
They see my pea-sized body in motion,
I look back with my bare-naked eye
At the stars with a curious itch,
What do they see?

I connect with all my activities,
Some of the best include treats
Like mochas and chocolate soufflés,
And putting my kids to bed,
It all registers in my mind,
Time speeds up for a moment
And then it slows,
I want my kids to have a together mom and dad
And the best treats life has to offer.

When the wind moves in more than one way
And it hits my face
I think I’m getting more wrinkles
Before I’m of ripe age,
Everything affects everything 
Because connection is everywhere
And reliance is everywhere,
My heart only beats because organisms 
And platelets thrive,
And because of my love for you,
And wonder about the universe,
And the activities that keep me going.
